Surface preparation:Prepare the substrate in accordance with SP 71.13 330.2017.
- Clean the substrate from dust and dirt. Remove weak layers of old paint and whitewash from previously painted surfaces.
- Sand hard and firmly adhering glossy surfaces to a matte finish, remove sanding dust.
- Level out unevenness, pits, cracks, and chips with the water-dispersive putty Bergauf UNI PASTA, then sand.
- Surfaces previously coated with chalk or lime paints must be thoroughly cleaned until all traces are completely removed. Highly absorbent surfaces should be pre-primed with the deep-penetration primer Bergauf Techno Primer to increase the coating’s reliability and reduce paint consumption.
Working procedure: The surface to be painted must be dry and clean; the base temperature for carrying out work is from +5°C, the room temperature during paint application is from +5°C to +35°C, and the relative air humidity is below 80%.
It is recommended to use paint from the same production batch to exclude differences in the shade of the finish coat.
Thoroughly mix the paint. It must be mixed using a wide and flat batten or a construction mixer at low speeds, carefully, without allowing air bubbles to form, for 1−3 minutes. Do not
It is recommended to mix the material by shaking the closed container. After transportation and/or active mixing, when air bubbles appear, the paint must be left to stand until they disappear.
Apply the paint to a prepared, dry, clean surface with a brush, roller, or paint sprayer. For rough surfaces such as textured plasters, brick, concrete blocks, textured ceilings, it is recommended to use rollers with a pile length of 12–25 mm. For
rough surfaces such as putties, plasters, concrete, wallpaper for painting, fiberglass mesh, paint paper (decorative nonwoven) — with a nap length of 8−12 mm. For smooth surfaces such as plasterboard, MDF, chipboard, architectural décor elements (trim pieces, moldings, ceiling cornices) — with a nap length up to 6 mm. The paint is ready for use; for application with a brush or roller, if necessary it is possible to dilute with water by no more than 5%. For airless spraying, dilution with water of 5−10% is allowed; nozzle 0,013−0,015″, pressure 180−190 bar. The spray angle is chosen based on the area and the geometric features of the surface being painted.
To obtain a rich color and improve the surface appearance, it is necessary to apply two coats of paint.
When carrying out work, avoid exposure to direct sunlight and conditions of high humidity.
After finishing the work, thoroughly wash hands and tools with warm water.
Safety precautionsWork should be carried out using personal protective equipment for the hands, eyes, and respiratory tract. Use only in well-ventilated areas.
