* Material consumption depends on the quality of surface preparation, the method of application, the tools used, the skill of the installers and may differ from the stated values.
** Some content of particles that differ from the base color is permitted, which does not affect the product's technical characteristics. This is explained by the presence in the composition of fillers of natural origin.
*** The stated quality indicators and recommendations are valid for an ambient temperature of +20°C and a relative air humidity of 60%. Under other conditions, drying time and adjustments may differ from those stated.
Purpose and properties
High-quality, ready-mixed plaster based on the most modern solutions, for use in facade thermal insulation systems based on mineral wool and expanded polystyrene, as well as for finishing indoors in dry and wet rooms in buildings and structures of types A, B, and C.
An innovative formulation creates a coating with high strength, a self-cleaning effect, and the best ratio of high vapor permeability and low water absorption. Reinforcing microfibers give the coating additional strength, elasticity, and resistance to shrinkage.
Technical features
The hybrid nature of the material ensures excellent adhesion and the formation of strong bonds both with the substrate and within the coating itself. Vertical bonds help form micro-tunnels to vent steam. The coating is resistant to mold and fungal growth. It can be tinted to pastel and saturated colors.
A pliable, easy-to-work consistency makes it possible to apply the plaster to the surface easily and quickly and to form the desired texture.
Tinting
Decorative plaster is supplied as a base and can be tinted by computer (machine) tinting to colors RAL, NCS, and other color catalog colors. Manual tinting is also possible using water-based tinting pastes with high light and weather resistance. Responsibility for the result of tinting lies with the organization performing the tinting.
Colour reproduction characteristics
Depending on the application conditions and the texture of the painted surface, the actual color shades may differ slightly from those shown in the color catalog.
Before use, it is necessary to perform a test application and check the dried coating for color conformity.
To avoid differences in shade, it is recommended to use a product from a single production batch on one visual surface (the batch number is indicated on each package) or to pre-mix materials from different batches in a 1:1 ratio; the application technology must remain unchanged.
Color recommendations
BERGAUF FACADE GRUNT primer is recommended to be applied in a color close to the color of the plaster being used.
Application on facades of materials in intense or dark colors with a reflection coefficient of less than 25% should be limited to small surfaces occupying no more than 10% of the facade, for example, individual architectural details.
Application technology
Work must be carried out in accordance with SP 293.1 325 800.2017.
Before applying the plaster, it must be thoroughly mixed, as during storage the product may separate. Thinning the plaster with water is allowed in an amount of no more than 5% of the material’s mass.
Apply the plaster using a stainless steel trowel at a 60° angle to the surface; the layer thickness must match the plaster grain size. After some time, when the mixture stops sticking to the tool, you can start shaping the texture with a plastic trowel. Hold the plastic trowel parallel to the surface and form the texture with light movements, without pressing.
The “pebble-like” texture is formed with small circular trowel movements directed in one direction, as a rule counterclockwise.
Features of performing the work
If it is necessary to stop work along the boundary of the plaster layer, masking tape is applied, which must be removed before the plaster hardens. To obtain a uniform texture, ensure a sufficient number of workers at each level of the scaffolding, and connect the pours between adjacent levels using the “wet-on-wet” method.
At an ambient temperature below +20°C and a relative air humidity above 60%, after application, protect the decorative plaster in the first 3 days from direct sunlight, wind, and rain. In such conditions, it is recommended to cover the scaffolding with a special mesh or film, and install drip edges on the building. Do not allow freezing and drying out.
Interior finishing should be carried out only in well-ventilated rooms, and after the work is completed, maintain air circulation until the coating is completely dry.
Subsequent work
The decorative plaster surface can be painted with acrylic, silicone, or silicate paints. Painting is carried out no earlier than after 3–5 days, depending on the surrounding environmental conditions.
Clean tools with water immediately after use. If the tools were not cleaned immediately, they can then only be cleaned mechanically.
Limitations
Do not work during atmospheric precipitation, fog, or on wet surfaces after rain and at a temperature below +5 and above +30 °C.
Storage and transportation conditions
Store and transport in tightly closed containers at a temperature of at least +5°C and no more than +30°C. Up to five freeze-thaw cycles with a total duration of no more than 3 weeks are permitted at temperatures not below -20°C.
The bucket with the product should be protected from excessive heating and avoid storage in direct sunlight. If the conditions are met, the guaranteed shelf life in a sealed factory package is 24 months from the date of manufacture.
Safety
The product is fire- and explosion-safe and does not contain any flammable components.
